The Reconstruction

After all trust and confidence has been stripped from a relationship, there are two options. Pursue a reconstruction. A new framework, a fresh ground to build on, and the common goal of recovering all of the lost feelings for each other. The other is to give up. To let all feelings for the other slip into oblivion. To try to forget all of the good times and remember that person only for the bad things just so they can be out of your head. A break-up.

Lots of things can tear two people apart. No matter what it is though, there will always be a way to mend it if both members are willing to work together to compensate for lost time, to clean out the past and fill up with the future, and to move on to a reconstructive stage that involves plenty of communication.

Like any strong structure, there is always a foundation beneath it. This is the base of the structure... this is what keeps it from sinking into the ground or being put up unevenly. Every relationship must have a base like this and it must be laid down correctly.

Being true to your word, being honest, being reliable, being there for the other person whenever they need you, having the courage to admit when you are wrong, having the ability to let go of your pride and see that the other person matters much more... these things will help build the foundation that you need to build your relationship on. These things will create a bond and a connection that will not easily be broken apart by anything.

Togetherness is the key. A one way relationship cannot and will not work. It takes two to build this foundation. It takes a lot of hopes and dreams and even more motivation to make them happen. It takes two hearts, two minds, two bodies, and one shared love to pull two people back together. It takes looking at the little things and the big things and putting both into perspective.

Life is trial and error. You don't know what will happen later on in your path until you get to that point. Every second in this life is another mystery. Every move we make and thought we think happens one at a time. The future will always be a mystery and nothing is for certain. But the path you walk must be walked carefully. Just remember, the path you take will always be a leap of faith... some maybe bigger leaps than others. But it is leaps of faith that create strong individuals. It is leaps of faith that you will test your ability to succeed.
