The Fate

Fate- the will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as they are or events to happen as they do : destiny. My favorite part about fate is people's denial that it even exists. Most religious people believe in destiny or predetermined paths but there are people that hate to admit that their future has already been planned out. They like to take each day one at time and not think too far ahead to the inevitable or what was meant to be.

Do I believe in fate or destiny? Yes. I don't feel like anything in my life has gone the way it was planned to go... as if I have been fighting fate the entire way. I believe in change and stability after struggle but when it comes to a pre-established future, I would like to think that I have one but I know I would probably end up fighting it again if I relied on that belief alone. I would love to have all the answers to everything in my life but its just not possible. You make your own fate. It doesn't fall into your lap.

So fate can be a strong word. You meet someone and fate is brought up. "We were destined to be." How do you know its not physical attraction? How do you know that the two of you are compatible with handling all the lemons life has to throw at you? How do you know that person loves you like you love them? Where do you draw the line between fate and compatibility? Like a bullet through your brain, you think over your entire life and all the aspects and traits of yourself to determine whether this statement is true. Its tough to realize when you find fate.

Fate. Is it real or not? Yes. Fate exists. No, not everybody falls into the arms of their fate, not everyone follows what they were meant to do, and not everybody gets the chance to even meet their fate or even know what it is. Fate can be distant and may not come to you until you are old. Fate can be noticed rather quickly and early on in your life. Fate can be avoided, fought, followed, ruined, displeasing, very pleasing, or even unfortunate. Fate exists but not everyone gets to follow their dreams and what they were meant to do or be with the person they were meant to be with. "Life Goes On..." -Robert Frost-
