The Cold Turkey

Most people can quit almost any habit on the spot. It just takes incentive and some amount of motivation. But quitting is quitting. There is always a chance of the quitter picking back up the habit again, and that is where most people encounter problems.

What was the reason you found to quit your habit? What was the reason you started? What made it a habit? How long had it been a habit? Think about these things before you even consider quitting your bad habit and get rid of the source of the problem before trying to fix it yourself.

People drag other people down. No matter where you go, there will always be someone with a greater influence over you than you have on them. They can pull you to do the things that they believe are acceptable, thus, making you believe that they are also acceptable. Don't let anyone influence you first of all. Think for yourself and what is best for you. Just because they do it and they have a great life or appear to have a good time, does not mean that you will too.

Stop doing what you are doing for yourself first of all... I am sure it isn't healthy in the least bit. Then stop doing it for those around you and for the sake of the people you have influence over. You could be a highly influential person and not know it.

Its not an easy task and it may take something big to get you to realize that you need to change, but when you do find your grounds for quitting, hold on to it for dear life... and never let it go.
