Its a deadly weapon that people use on themselves. It keeps people from moving to the next stage in their lives. Its regret and its the ugliest s.o.b you will ever get a chance to meet. Sure its alright to regret your mistakes, but you made them for a reason. What can you learn from mistakes you never make right?
No, I am most certainly not saying that the more mistakes you make the smarter you become. I am saying that if you realize you are making mistakes, and you realize why you made them and what to do or not do to prevent them from happening again, then you have learned something from them.
Unfortunately, many people do not learn from their mistakes. Some people are not quite bright enough to even realize that it is a mistake at all. Sadly enough, I have been victim to this very concept. After making the same mistakes several times over, I finally learned and taught myself how to not make any of them ever again.
But sitting around regretting everything and going on a personal guilt trip to shameland is never the right answer. Find out what you did wrong. Find the root of the problem and fix that first. Throw all your cards down on the table and be honest with yourself before you even start thinking about making things right with other people. Make sure that you have the confidence to achieve what you need to do to fix the problem and do it. Let everyone see that you have learned from your mistakes.
